Ria's Rosy Lee Tea Room Arrives in Town!

LQ Magazine visits the new vintage inspired tea room

The delightful new tearoom, Ria’s Rosy Lee has a vintage, and homely atmosphere. Situated on Cambridge Street, Wellingborough, it’s the ideal place to visit for afternoon tea.

“At the beginning of the year, people were saying there isn’t a lot of tea rooms in Wellingborough, so I decided to do something about it,” Ria explains. “It’s a concept vintage tea room. I want people to come in and feel like they’re in someone’s living room - somewhere cosy where you can relax.” The quaint tearoom certainly takes you back in time, and the unique decor helps set the scene along with music from the 50’s and 60’s. Impressively, all the teas are supplied locally from Irvin’s House of Flavour.

Images of Audrey Hepburn and Breakfast at Tiffany’s immediately spring to mind upon my arrival, and I thoroughly enjoy my Pai Mu Tan Tea - a rare white tea that can only be picked at a certain time of the year, on frost-free days in April.

You will definitely be spoilt for choice during your visit - there is 22 teas and six coffees to choose from, as well as a tea and coffee of the month.

Ria’s passion and experience with baking has seen her bring those skills to the tearoom. “I make all the cakes homemade, and I can cater to a lot of dietary requirements.”

Aside from the tearoom, there is also a room upstairs available to hire for private functions or even a tea party!

With prices starting from as little as £1.80 for a pot of tea, cakes from £1.50, and biscuits from £1, it’s definitely worth the visit.
