LQ Magazine catches up with Irvin's House of Flavour as they celebrate 11 years of business in Wellingborough...

 

In September, Caroline & Trevor Pink celebrate 11 years with their Tea and Coffee Specialist business in Wellingborough. The unique and remarkable shop supplies a vast array of teas and coffees from all over the world.

 

What’s the secret behind their continued success? “We love what we do and we’ve stayed committed. We’ve not compromised the quality of what we do,” Caroline explains. “We’ve built up close relationships with lots of people. We’re immensely proud of being able to do that for Wellingborough.”

 

Their extensive knowledge of teas and coffees makes your shopping experience a friendly and educational visit. If you’re unsure of what tea or coffee to buy, they supply teas at 50g sizes so you can try it – you don’t have to buy a large amount.

 

Caroline and Trevor always go that extra mile to please their customers. “We have a lot of customers who know that they can get their gifts sorted. Whatever they want to put together, we create for them. We create unique gifts for their budget. We tailor to their budgets, and we don’t charge people for the gift wrapping.”

 

Most importantly, at Irvin’s, they have an admirable work ethic sourcing only the very best teas and coffees from around the world, and supporting charities in other countries as well as in the UK. Caroline explains: “For us it’s about investing in estates – coffee and tea estates. It should be an everyday occurrence, not just special things. It’s about building, educating and encouraging people to buy. People are really embracing making their own good quality tea at home themselves, and people are realising how cost-effective it is to make your own.”

 

They are extremely grateful for the immense support shown to them. “We’re really thankful for all the customers who have supported us over the years. It’s brought a lot of people from a whole cross section into Wellingborough. We care for and respect our customers and like working with people.”
